Baban Baban Ban Vampire Manga Gets Stage Play

Hiromasa Okujima's Baban Baban Ban Vampire manga will get its first stage play titled Bloody Love Kageki Baban Baban Ban Vampire (Bloody Love Opera Baban Baban Ban Vampire), which will run from September 20-25 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. Kenta Mizue will play Ranmaru Mori. Risuto Sakimoto will play Rihito Tatsuno. Yuuka Ide will play Aoi Shinozuka. Hikaru Yamano will play Ken Shinozuka. Hiroki Sana will play Umetarou Sakamoto. Erika Takizawa will play Kaoru Yamaba. Shun Takagi will play Haruhiko Tatsuno. Asahi Miwa will play Tamao Tatsuno. Toshiyuki Someya will play Nagayoshi Mori. Mizue will perform the theme song "Bibibi!."Keita Kawajiri will direct the show based on the script by Yûsuke Watanabe.A live-action film of the manga was originally scheduled for a February 14 release, but was postponed due to "various circumstances." The preview screening scheduled on January 21 was also canceled. The film opened on July 4, and ranked at #5 in its opening weekend in Japan.The BL (indicated here as standing for "Bloody Love Comedy") manga centers on a 450-year-old vampire named Ranmaru, working part-time at an old public bath. He desires the blood of an 18-year-old virgin, and so watches over the growth of 15-year-old Rihito, the son of the bathhouse owners, and tries to prevent him from losing his virginity.An anime adaptation premiered in Japan on January 11. The anime is streaming on Netflix.Okujima launched the manga in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in October 2021.
