DLE, TSK San-in Central TV Channel Unveil 'The World of Lafcadio Hearn's Kwaidan' Short Anime/AI Show to Debut on October 2

Animation studio DLE and Shimane and Tottori prefectures' TSK San-in Central Television channel announced on Saturday a short anime/AI program titled "The World of Lafcadio Hearn's Kwaidan" ("Koizumi Yakumo no KWAIDAN (Kaidan) no Sekai"), which will debut on the channel on October 2. The three-minute show is based on the work of Greek and Irish writer Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), and will feature two versions, the "Anime Look Version" and the "Live-Action Look Version." DLE also started streaming a teaser promotional video on Saturday. The show will feature 13 stories of mysterious and bizarre tales passed down in Japan.DLE describes the show: The show's "Anime Look Version" will debut on the TSK San-in Central TV channel on October 2 at 8:54 p.m. JST. The "Live-Action Look Version" will debut on October 3 at 24:45 a.m. JST (effectively, October 4 at 12:24 a.m. JST).FROGMAN (pseudonym of new DLE president Ryō Ono) is the show's director, screenwriter, and editor. Manga artist Sera Izumi designed the show's navigation character called Konkasumi. DLE and its new studio OBETA AI STUDIO are in charge of production.Voice actors Chafūrin and Miki Itō will star in the short anime/AI show.Koizumi Yakumo (Patrick Lafcadio Hearn) was a Meiji era writer, translator, and teacher who came to Japan after reading an English translation of Kojiki, an early Japanese chronicle of myths, legends, hymns, genealogies, oral traditions, and semi-historical accounts. He was assigned as an English teacher at Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture, and married Koizumi Setsu, the daughter of a Matsue samurai, and he eventually became a naturalized Japanese citizen. Ryō Ono (FROGMAN) was officially appointed as DLE's new representative director and president on June 23, replacing Hideo Hoshi, who resigned from the position.Ono, under the pseudonym FROGMAN, created the Eagle Talon anime shorts. DLE launched the first Himitsu Kessha Taka no Tsume (Secret Society Eagle Talon) television series in 2006, and the series spawned nine films.
