Crunchyroll to Stream 2-Part Chainsaw Man Anime Compilation Film in September

Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream a two-part compilation film of the Chainsaw Man anime titled Chainsaw Man - The Compilation: Part 1 & 2 in September worldwide, excluding Asia. The compilation films will recap key moments from the television anime, and will also include Chainsaw Days (Chainsaw Biyori), a newly animated adaptation of the original manga's bonus chapters. The anime's staff announced on Tuesday that the compilation film will exclusively stream on the ABEMA streaming service in Japan on September 5 at 9:00 p.m. JST. The anime's staff also announced that the upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will simultaneously screen in 61 IMAX theaters in Japan. Crunchyroll describes the compilation films: Reina Ueda plays Reze in the film.Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has acquired worldwide theatrical rights the film. The company will open the film in theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom on October 29, and will also open the film earlier in more than 80 countries on September 24.The film's staff includes: Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada are performing the ending theme song "JANE DOE." Yonezu is also performing the film's theme song "IRIS OUT."The television anime series premiered on TV Tokyo and five other affiliated channels, as well as on Amazon Prime Video in October 2022. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in over 200 countries and territories around the world.Tatsuki Fujimoto (Fire Punch) debuted the Chainsaw Man manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and ended its "first part," the "Kōan" (Public Safety) arc, in December 2020. The manga's second part, titled "Gakkō-hen" (School Arc), started on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in July 2022.
