Bushiroad Releases Statement After Company, Voice Actress Amane Shindō Receive Threats
Bushiroad stated that on Thursday, after rumors about Shindō's private life circulated on social media, Shindō and Bushiroad both received threats of arson, injury, and murder. Bushiroad stated it checked with Shindō and other parties involved, and could confirm that the rumors were "completely unfounded."The company added that while it recognizes the disclosure of private information of voice actors and celebrities outside of reasonable limits can itself be a major issue, it decided in this case to comment on the situation as the spread of the rumors led to threats. Bushiroad has consulted its legal counsel and reported the matter to investigative agencies, and is considering filing civil and/or criminal cases. The company asked readers to "refrain from trusting and spreading false information."While Bushiroad did not specifically state what the rumors were, rumors started circulating on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday from an account that claims that it exposes idols, and claimed that Shindō was cheating on her partner. The X/Twitter post with 56 million views as of press time alleged that Shindō's partner hired a detective to investigate possible infidelity, and that the detective discovered proof of infidelity. Shindō is known for playing roles in several Bushiroad franchises, such as Mashiro Kurata in BanG Dream!, Megumi Ōkura in Cardfight!! Vanguard, and Haruna Kasuga in D4DJ. She also voices Kurumi Haraga in The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You and Izumi Katsuragi in Love Live!
